ABOUT US
MEET NATE
Malo, my name is Nathan! I am half Samoan, half Kiwi and have grown up around music my whole life. Believe it or not, I actually disliked guitar in my teenage years but after I first learned how to play the Mario theme song there was no turning back! I have now been playing guitar for 12 years, playing across all genres from jazz to rock and love learning new instruments (I'm up to 6 now!).
My favourite part about playing with my beautiful wife, Synthea is the fact that music has always been a big part of our relationship, and playing guitar was one of the first moves I made to try impress her!
Outside of music, I love spending time with family, keeping myself fit, working on my own passion of helping people manage their money and ultimately living the full life God has purposed for me.
MEET THEA
Kumusta, my name is Synthea! I'm a Filipina who loves creativity, organisation, family and God. When I was a toddler, I used to stand on tables and sing my favourite song from 'The Little Mermaid' in front of my Tito and his friends. From then, I have been singing at talent quests, worship teams, special events, conferences and now weddings, alongside my incredibly talented husband, Nathan.
The best part about singing with my best friend is being able to jam our favourite songs from back in high school which always brings back the feels. I've always wanted to perform at weddings with Nathan so it's pretty surreal living out my dream, every gig is like a date night for us!
Besides music, I am also a wedding/event planner and I'm enjoying the freedom to pursue my passions and go wherever God calls me.
OUR STORY
We started off as classmates, then friends, then became high school sweethearts at 17. Throughout our 5 years of dating, we did university together, got full time jobs and served at church in the worship team.
Nate proposed to Thea at the Sky Tower at 21 and planned to get married in May 2020. However, covid came and we had to postpone our wedding, but that didn't stop us! We ended up buying our first home and got married at 22 on 10 Oct 2020, moving into our newly built house straight after our honeymoon!
It's been 2 years since we got married and we've started our own businesses, including Nate & Thea. Music has always been a part of our lives and it's always been a dream of ours to sing and play together. Now, we have the privilege of playing at the most beautiful weddings and venues, meeting new people, running our own business together and jamming our favourite songs as husband and wife!
